Times Square, NYC, New Year's Eve 2003/2004 [p] [l]

Jook Leung's Times Square Quicktime VR photo(s):

It takes a little while to load, especially on a modem, but it's pretty freaking cool - it's a Quicktime VR photo of Times Square, taken just last night, and allows you to rotate, look around, zoom in and out, etc. It's the next best thing to being there - and frankly, is probably better than being there. Most impressive, though, is the fact that he took the photos just a few hours ago - developed them, printed them (if I'm reading it correctly, he didn't use a digital), and then scanned them in and spliced 'em together into the QTVR, all in one night. Obviously, he didn't get as wasted as some of the people on my friends list. ;)

Anyways, it's pretty cool. Enjoy.

Found via Gawker (which I just set up as an LJ feed here: gawker_xml). Those into the NYC food/eating "scene" (heh) may also enjoy this feed I just set up: foodsection_rdf .
