I've felt an increasing need to do some hardcore geekery recently... the non-geek aspects of work have just been pounding me recently, and it's been a really welcome relief to dig into the technical aspects of things a bit. I miss it, sinking my claws into a deep, satisfying technical problem and finding a solution. Hell, sometimes even doing technical "busy work" can be a nice change of pace.
As sad as it sounds, I've really enjoyed working on the switches at work recently. Digging up old memories of how spanning tree works and using it to debug and fix problems - and then explaining it to people on top of that - has been surprisingly enjoyable.
I'm actually starting to look forward to working on the network rebuild. That's a sure sign of insanity, there.
