"NEW YORK (CNN) -- A gunman opened fire from a balcony in the City Council chamber at New York's City Hall Wednesday, shooting a man multiple times before being shot himself, witnesses told CNN."
"NEW YORK -- A gunman opened fire inside the City Council chambers Wednesday afternoon during a routine hearing, leaving two victims sprawled side by side on a second-floor balcony. Police were still searching for the shooter nearly an hour later."
Update: Apparently, the only casualty was also the founder of a local city anti-violence group. Seems like an awfully big coincidence to me. Check it out: http://www.jedavis-stopviolence.org/meta2.html
Update 2: I'm not going to bother updating with new news, everyone here is capable of clicking and reading, so I'll just close by mentioning that the shooter was apparently someone running against him, a political rival, and yeah, that's screwed up.
