(That was sarcasm, for the uninitiated.)
I went to my uncle's place on Friday, which was good, but I was really exhausted the whole time, and I couldn't figure out why. I got back home and crashed, and then later started to realize why. I was sick.
I spent the next two days sans-solid-food - Lipton's chicken noodle soup is all I could really safely manage (minus the noodles, even, on the first day). Some sort of stomach virus, I'm guessing - I seem to pick them up every 5 or 6 years and go without solid food for a few days as a result. Same thing this time.
Around 4 pm Sunday, I started to feel hungry for the first time in 2 days - an amazing statement coming from a Tang (our family motto ought to be "Essen über alles" (thanks Google!)) - and, having been bereft of BBQ over the entire 4th of July weekend up until that point, I had an overwhelming desire to have some. So I had a few ribs we picked up from a local bbq place, along with some mashed potatoes and a salad (originally I was going to have some simple falafel-things - we had a hummus mix, and we got some pitas and lettuce and tomatoes - but the hummus mix was disgusting so we threw it away and just had a salad with pita on the side). Ugh. Let's just say that the first pangs of hunger did not indicate that my stomach was back in fighting shape.
Anyhoo, that's that. Hopefully I'll be feeling better soon, since the plan is to go to a thai restaurant tomorrow night - and boy could it get ugly if my stomach's not better. I may just stick to rice and a little bit of some non-spicy dishes.
