I looked through my friends' list briefly, and saw that I'm somewhere around 250 entries behind, give or take. Sorry, but I don't think I'll be getting to all of them, no matter how much I'd like to. There aren't enough hours in the day. Or night.
Anyways, here's a little recap of the past week or so:
Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve (heh), I was on call. Oy. I got almost no sleep, thanks to Globix being stupid and not responding to my requests for reboots.
Thursday morning, I attempted somewhat unsuccessfully to wake up. My dad let me sleep in, as he was worried about my lack of sleep. I appreciate it, but on the other hand, it meant I woke up late. We all got up, got packed up, and hopped in the car to drive to my cousin's place.
We got there around an hour and a half late - around 1:30. That actually wasn't a terrible thing, as it put us there just shortly before the food was served. ;) My dad had called ahead to let them know what happened and that we'd be late because of it, so it wasn't a big deal. There were a bunch of people there - the cousin that lives there, of course, and her SO. Her sister, who I haven't seen for years (Literally! She's been off working with the Peace Corps over in Africa) and her SO from Madagascar - that was really cool seeing her again. My other cousin who went to school at LIU was there as well, which is cool as I haven't seen her since I was in Vancouver over the summer. My uncle was there with his partner, and my cousin's SO had his family (brother, parents, grandparents) there as well. It was an unusually big crowd for me anyways, and I had a good time. The cake and the pie went over really well, of course, everyone loved them. The cake seemed to get more raves, but I'm guessing that's just because it was chocolate mousse and most people haven't experienced a truly good chocolate cake. The pie, though, was a much more impressive dessert I thought - I'm not a huge fan of apple pie, but I liked this one. The cake was excellent, but I've had better chocolate cakes, whereas I've never had a better apple pie.
So anyways... we left around 6 or 7, and went to my mom's place. When we got there, we talked and relaxed and then had a late turkey dinner (they had eaten shortly before we arrived, so we just ate and they had some dessert with us).
We left the next day, and came home, and relaxed, and my dad baked the free turkey we got, and we saw Monsters Inc. The kids loved it - the baby actually sat mostly still through the whole movie, which was pretty impressive for a 2 year old. He talked to me a little about it, in his AMAZINGLY adorable baby talk, but otherwise was quiet and attentive. The older one loved it, and immediately afterwards asked me to buy it or rent it for him, hehe. I had to explain that it wasn't coming out for a few months for home viewing, but that if he was good I'd get it for him when it did.
Then we went home and had dinner, and late that night my dad and I munched on some turkey after it was done.
The next day was uneventful, we stayed home, ate lots of turkey and the trimmings, and then watched Star Wars: Ep. 1 when it came on tv.
Didn't do much today. Had more turkey for dinner.
Then... GOT MY DSL BACK! My life can resume now. ;)
I had a lot to talk about but forgot it all in my hiatus from the internet. So... yeah.
