The UN was closed, if you haven't heard. All bridges, tunnels, ports, and airports in the city are closed as well, as well as Newark airport in NJ.

The airplane was flight 587 headed for the Dominican Republic, an American Airlines Airbus A300, carrying 255 people (9 of those were crew). If you have family that might have been on that crash, there's a toll-free info line you can call to inquire about them: (800) 245-0999.

12 buildings are burning/damaged by falling debris. The plane apparently suffered from an internal explosion before going down, and one of its engines went flying off before it hit. They believe it to be a malfunction and not a terrorist attack.

That's basically all of the relevant news I've got, folks. Back to work for me.
