Vikings @ the Giants

133612So, I got the sweetest tickets ever to today's Giants game. Truly amazing seats. Couldn't ask for better seats to see them play their worst game of the entire season. For Christ's sake. The seats really were amazing, though.

How amazing? That photo on the right is the view from my seat, no zoom used. A friend was able to trade some of his season tickets to the Redskins (he just recently moved up from the DC area) for some Giants tickets, and offered me one of them. Of course, no way I was going to turn them down! I've seen some pre-season games, and I've seen them play at Veteran's stadium, but I've never been able to see the Giants play at home during a regular season game. They're sold out for just about as long as you can imagine - I've been on the waiting list for 2 years and the first tickets that came up were earlier in this season when they moved the New Orleans game to the Meadowlands on account of the hurricane.

Anyways, as you can see, we were on the 45 yard line, 17 rows from the sidelines. I could have spit on the Vikings from there if I wanted to (and I was tempted, trust me). They were mind-bogglingly good - and dirt cheap, considering. Part of the "problem", I guess, is that Giants tickets are so cheap compared to other teams' tickets. These tickets - about the best you can get without going to the luxury boxes - were under $70 each, face value. Can you imagine that? No wonder they're sold out for so damn long.

We got there a little early, so we got to see them warming up, and coming out onto the field.

Since we were sitting behind the Vikings' sideline, I had a clear shot of the Giants' sideline.

Of course, I also got plenty of shots of the action on the field. Unfortunately, despite the stats, it was pathetic. The Giants had an excellent game on the defense - holding the Vikes to only 6 yards in the first half. Their offense and special teams, though, completely fell apart. Completely. Sigh.

Anyways, a few more photos:
