Economy: "Nonfarm employment was little changed (+32,000) in July, and the unemployment rate was essentially unchanged at 5.5 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. Employment levels in most of the major industry sectors were little changed over the month." http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm
Hmmm. This has been an historic couple of weeks for GW. It's like he's campaigning against himself. In the course of two weeks, he's admitted to trying his best to harm the American people, he's said results matter at a time when the economy is in a horrible state, and he's managed to piss off one of his most valuable allies, Senator John McCain*.
You're damned right results matter. Keep up the good work, George!
It's true, I've had (or at least my public face, my journal) has been on a single track, recently, namely the anti-Bush, pro-Kerry campaign I'm waging. Sorry about that, all. I know you'd much rather read about my choice of yogurt, or the people I hate, or... well, I can't remember anything else I normally talk about in here. But I'm sure there are other things as well.
Unfortunately for you, YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET THAT!
Actually, that's not true. I promise - my next post will not be political. (I'm not saying there won't be any political opinions or views in it, because those are an inherent part of my nature, but it won't be overtly political.)
You may rejoice! Treasure these moments, for they will be few and far between until November.
