Kill Bill vol. 2 [t]

I went and saw Kill Bill 2 tonight with my dad.  This may surprise some of you, since I went and saw it opening night after being a professed non-fan of the first.  Well, my dad really wanted to see it, and it's been a while since we've hung out.  The kids are at my ex's place, and the local theater only charges $7 tickets.  Boom, done.

Eh.  I don't regret having seen it, but it was hardly fantastic.  I didn't like the first one at all; I thought this one was better, but still only eh.  It was long eh, though - 2 and a half hours.  I almost fell asleep a few times, mainly because it dragged from time to time and the dialogue was again weak (although not as laughably bad (or maybe my expectations were just lower) as the first one).  For some reason (again, maybe just lowered expectations), I did enjoy this one a lot more.  Eh, I dunno.  It was fairly fun, but probably 30 minutes too long (it's only acceptable to be that slow if something - like the dialogue - provides something interesting.  Without that, it's just long and boring).  On the other hand, the first one was 2 hours too long, so it's all relative.  At least this one had some funny scenes.

So, I'd give this one... oh... I dunno, 2.5 stars out of 5.  I'd give the first maybe 1.5 stars out of 5.

Should you see it?  Well, if you didn't like the first one, you may enjoy this one better but you still won't be wowed by it - wait for it to come out on DVD.  On the other hand, if you loved the first one, there's something seriously wrong with you.  I recommend counselling.
