More things I hate: Out of Office/Vacation autoresponders

People at work go on vacation or business trips sometimes. This is understandable.

What's not understandable is the autoresponder they use when they do - it's not even intelligent enough to remember who it's autoresponded to. This means that when some of these people are automatically mailed by various programs, they autorespond to them every time. Most of those bounce back to root@, which goes to all of the SA's.

This means anytime someone on these automated lists goes on vacation, we get spammed with "Sorry I'm out of the office, please blah blah blah" type emails 2, 3, even 6 or 7 times a day.

I can't STAND that shit. I've asked the IS guy to fix it several times but he never has, so now I've decided to forward a copy of every single out of office message I get to him so he can enjoy them just as much as I have. I'm tempted to ask the other SA's to join in, so he gets 5 copies for every one that goes out. Maybe getting 30 emails forwarded to him a day will convince him to get off his ass and just fix it. Hmmmm. Anyways.
