Kids: like valium, but better.

Insomnia? What's that?

We went and picked the kids up last night, got home around 8. We put them to bed, finished our dinners (I made spaghetti for dinner, but oddly enough, when you start cooking 5 minutes before you're supposed to leave, there's not a lot of time left to eat), I checked email, and then, shortly before 9, I sat down in front of the tv where my dad was watching PBS.

Around 15 minutes later, I was fast asleep, and stayed asleep until my dad shook me awake at 11 pm and told me to go to bed. And, amazingly, I got up, checked my email, then went right back to sleep (this time in my bed), no muss, no fuss.

I don't think I've fallen asleep before midnight, no matter how tired I was, for weeks. Months maybe. First night my babies are back, safe and sound, and I pass out almost instantly.

Why restaurant reviews suck...

They have three values that you rate the restaurant on a scale from 1 to 5:

- Food and Presentation
- Ambiance and Decor
- Quality of Service

While presentation, ambiance, decor, and service are all key factors to take into account, food is the most important thing when dining out. They also don't have a rating for price, or more appropriately, value (i.e. spending a lot on dinner is much easier if the food and experience rocks your socks off).

If I had to make a bunch of evenly weighted ratings, I'd probably do this:

Food: taste
Food: presentation and quality
Ambiance and decor

That makes much more sense to me, and doesn't exactly make it much more difficult to fill out.

6 am install tomorrow, means 5 am bus tomorrow, means 4 am wakey wakey. Fuck.
