Being an asshole can be fun.

I received an email from a total stranger tonight. I replied. Here's a transcript.

Email #1:
Have you configured a load balancing between two ISPs?

Reply #1:
Who the heck are you, and why do you care?

Nicholas

Email #2;
Wow! Take it easy, buddy. I saw a message from
at Geocrawler or some mailing list index page that I found
using Google.
I am configuring a load balancing with two differents
ISPs on a CISCO 2621 and I am getting further tech info about
that. Just it.

That was taking it easy, and don't call me buddy. It's just generally
considered polite to at least explain where you're coming from if you're
going to show up out of nowhere and send a total stranger an email. If you
want a more friendly reaction, try being more friendly yourself. Introduce
yourself.

To answer your question: yes, I have, and you'll want to do some research
into BGP4 (border gateway protocol version 4).

Wow.. how stressed you are.
OK.. normally I introduce myself... but this time
I wanted to be practical. I am sorry.

Thanks. I am gonna research about that. I was wondering
if there isn't other way without BGP4.

There's nothing impractical about being polite -or- being friendly. :P

Why don't you like BGP4? There are always other solutions, but BGP4 works
fairly well and is (usually) pretty easy to set up.

OK.. thanks again!
I am gonna try BGP4.! BGP4 Rulez!

You need to work on your sarcasm. Like this: "You're an idiot." Oh, shit,
nevermind, that wasn't sarcasm.

It was an honest question, and if you had answered it I'd have been willing
to discuss other solutions. Whatever, have fun.
