Force of will

Ah, yes. Woke up to sunlight - cloudy sunlight, admittedly, but sunlight - streaming in from my window. Watching the radar maps on weather.com and noaa.gov, it appears that the storm system that was supposed to drench us today literally split over us and is in the process of passing on either side of us without actually hitting us here in NYC. Not only that, but looking at the maps, it's actually re-forming on the other side of the city. It's impossible to predict exactly what will happen, of course, but barring any sudden changes, we just may make it through today without rain, or at least a minimal amount.

BOOYAH!

(Full disclosure: there are some more rain clouds that are down over southern NJ now, which may still nail us, but the first part, which was supposed to have hit us hours ago, appears to have flown right by. But hey, if I willed the rain away once, I can do it again, right? ;) )
